DIRECTIONS FOR GETTING TO THE NETHERLANDS INSTITUTE FOR PIGMENT DISORDERS FOUNDATION (S.N.I.P.)

Private Transportation:
The Netherlands Institute for Pigment Disorders is located on the premises of the Academic Medical Centre (AMC). (Please, refer to the map at the left-hand side). Royal Dutch Touring Club (Dutch: ANWB) signs give indications to the AMC when you arrive from either direction on the A2 and A9. At the junction in front of the AMC premises you drive straight in the ‘Other Destinations’ (Dutch: Overige Bestemmingen) direction. You are now on the ring road of the AMC. (Please, refer to the map at the right-hand side). You follow the road until the grey-blue building at your left. This is the building in which SNIP is located. You can park your car free-of-charge in car parks P2 – P5. Three parking spaces for visitors are available in front of the door.

Public Transportation:

Underground
You take Line 50 (Isolatorweg – Gein) or Line 54 (Central Station [CS] – Gein) and alight at the Holendrecht station. From this station, you walk a few hundred metres through a covered passageway to the main entrance of the AMC. At the reception desk in the main entrance of the AMC you can ask how to reach the SNIP.

City Transport Company (Dutch: GVB)
There are four GVB bus lines that run to the AMC. Lines 59, 60 and 61 stop at the entrance to the hospital. Line 29 stops at the Holendrecht underground station. At the reception desk in the main entrance of the AMC you can ask how to reach the SNIP.

Regional buses of Connexxion

Bus line 158 brings you from Almere to the Holendrecht underground station. Bus lines 120 from Utrecht and 126 from Wilnis drive over the AMC premises and stop at the Psychiatric Centre (from here you follow the NIP/IWO signs) as well as at the Holendrecht underground station. Bus lines 137 from Hilversum, 174 from Weesp to Haarlem via Schiphol and Hoofddorp, and 175 from Diemen to Amstelveen stop at the Bijlmer station from where you can take the underground in the direction of Gein.

Train
If you travel by train, you can change to the underground in the direction of Gein at the following stations:
Centraal Station (line 54), station Amstel (line 54), station Sloterdijk (line 50), station Duivendrecht (line 50, 54) and station Bijlmer (lines 50 and 54).

Walking route from the main entrance of the AMC:
From the main entrance of the Academic Medical Centre you walk into the hospital and walk straight until the medical library (Dutch: Medische bibliotheek). There you make a right turn.
Now you walk straight again until you see the sign ‘IWO’ on a pillar. (This sign points to the left.) There you turn left.
Now you walk straight again and you leave the AMC via an elevated bridge. You go to the ground floor (by taking the staircase or by using the lift) and outside after you have crossed the elevated bridge. You can open the outside door by pressing the button at your right.
You turn left and walk past the bicycle shed and the building until the end of the building. There turn left. The first entrance at your left is the entrance of SNIP.

However, you cannot return the same way, because you will need a badge to open the rear entrance to the AMC. Ask one of the assistants of SNIP to show you the way back.
